Today we are super excited, and extremely proud, to have been recognized on a spotlight post on StyleMePretty’s weblog. Using the images from a shoot located at the Alder Manor and photographed by Lindsay Hite + Jacqueline Schlossman of Readyluck, the model is seen wearing some of the dresses that we sell at our boutique. The delicious looking food was prepared by Naturally Delicious and tasted as mouth-watering as it looks! A big THANK YOU to everyone at Style Me Pretty and to all of our brides and supporting vendors. Check out the sponsored post: The White Gown on Style Me Pretty. Feather Fun for your Weekend DIY!
July 30th, 2011
We’ve stumbled upon a few really great feather DIY crafts lately so thought we’d browse around for the best supplies to make some feathery goodness of our own. We decided to seek out materials to make feather boutonnieres like these:

Thanks to A Beautiful Mess for the inspiration!
So during our search, we found a place in midtown called Feather Place. If you love feathers, you really need to check this place out. They have everything you could ever imagine! Including these peacock stunners:

Once you’ve found the perfect combination of feathers, pop down Sixth Avenue to one of the bead stores like Toho Shoji to pick up some details that will finish your boutonniere. We were loving these resin pearls that come in every color imaginable!

Arrange the feathers and beading (you’ll need to string them on some fish wire first!) and then secure the ends with floral tape. Grab a floral pin to secure to your fiance’s lapel and voila! You’re done!
Send us pictures of your DIY creations for a chance to be featured on our blog.

We have been a fan of this cocktail dress since it hit our store earlier this year. How excited were we when it popped up in this months Get Married Magazine! We know brides are constantly looking for a bridesmaid dress that their ladies can wear again and this is definitely it. You don’t need to be a bridesmaid to get your hands on this gorgeously draped dress. A night out with your siggie, fashion week cocktail party or summer wedding, this dress knows no boundaries.

Lately we’ve been experimenting with fun nail polish colors and love the idea of translating that over to your wedding day! You’ll notice we’re particularly into the sparkles! We also included a few great palettes from Refinery29 ‘s awesome collection of great, summer nail colors. Enjoy!
Perhaps your “something blue” can be some vibrant, blue nail polish from one of your bridesmaids. Wouldn’t these blue nails go perfectly with our Casablanca dress on a warm, summer day?

Kids say the darndest things…

A poll was taken among a classroom of children between the ages of 4 and 8. The question at hand was “What does love mean?”
Our favorite Answers!
“Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.” -Chrissy, Age 6
“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” – Lauren, Age 4
“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” -Mark, Age 6
