A little bit about the couple: We met in Spain while we were studying abroad and became friends.  When we both moved to Manhattan after graduating from college a year later, we met again and had a summer of parties, outdoor concerts and great friends.  In the fall, Arthur got a promotion and was transferred to Los Angeles.  We were bi coastal for a year and then Arthur was transferred again, this time to Miami.  I soon followed and we have lived together on the beach ever since.

He proposed on a Friday night, after a lovely home cooked dinner. We were just lounging on the couch together and he popped the question.  He was supposed to wait to ask me and he had a romantic picnic plan for the next evening.  But, he couldn’t wait.  I’ll never forget his words, “I couldn’t wait, you looked so beautiful on the couch.”  We had a great night and woke up early the next morning and headed to the beach to call all of our friends and family.

Danielle’s search for the perfect wedding gown: I wanted to wear a hot pink Herve Leger dress until my mother put her foot down and insisted on white.  I walked past the White Gown on my way to school everyday and decided to pop in on a break.  To my pure luck, they had a dress that reminded me of what I was looking for but in “Bridal Ivory”.  My dress is amazing, it made me feel so secure and beautiful.  I wish all of my clothes could feel like that.

Danielle’s fave moment on her big day: My favorite moments were waking up and feeling excited, electric, overwhelmed, happy, blessed.  All of those amazing feelings all at once.  Not many times in my life have I felt that way.  My second favorite moment was when Arthur and I watched as everyone was sitting for dinner. Everyone was consumed with talking, laughing and eating.  No one was paying any attention to us – they were just happy being together, right where they were.  The third, was when we got home – we stayed up talking like teenagers about the whole night… crying, laughing, drinking wine and hugging and kissing.  It was so beautiful.
A little bit about Danielle’s vendors.: Our vendors were professionals.  I’m a bit of a control freak and I was so happy that my vendors were all competent, friendly and sweet.  I felt like I was in great hands and was extremely comfortable with each of them.  If anything went wrong, it was behind the scenes and I had no idea.  Maybe it was the first wedding in history where everything went perfect?!
A special thank you from Danielle: Since I live in Miami, I wanted to send THANK YOU to your seamstress.  She was so sweet and professional and made the most perfect alterations in a very short amount of time.  AND, the dress was even more beautiful and comfortable on my wedding day than I thought possible in the store.

A little bit about proposal: David and I got engaged the day before valentines day at my parents’ house. We fell in love early in our relationship and he truly swept me off my feet! I feel he is my best friend; he always keeps me smiling and laughing!  He is selfless by always putting my needs before his own and for that I am always trying to find ways to spoil him. I am truly blessed to have him as mine!

Jennifer’s search for the perfect wedding gown: I began at The White Gown, fell in love with “The” dress – Enzoani Fabi, but continued to search at other places. I was hesitant in thinking it was that easy to find the perfect dress. After several months (and several other bridal stores) I returned to The White Gown, tried my Fabi on again and cried! That was it – that was MY dress! The Staff at the white gown always made me feel such at ease; they tended to my every need and concern. They did not let me down at all!

Fave moment on her wedding day: My favorite moment of my wedding was seeing my husband at the end of the aisle at Church and once he grabbed my hand, he didn’t let go for the rest of the ceremony. My other favorite moment was during the reception, all our family and friends dancing with our band, having an amazing time. I was SO happy to see everyone enjoying themselves, the music and celebrating our love!

A bit about your vendors: All of our  vendors were great, honest and worked hard into making our day fabulous.

Bridal Gown: The White Gown (That’s us!!) A perfect experience for my perfect dress! Thank you!

I cannot help but get emotional when I look at all of the amazingly beautiful images from Colette and Joe’s wedding. I met Colette at a meeting for student apparel and design association at Michigan State University about 9 years ago but it was not until we had all of our classes together at FIT that we really got to know one another well.   Along with our two dear friends Lisa and Angi, we bonded over extreme sleep deprivation, crazy professors and getting lost beneath yards and yards of fabric.  Alas, we made it through.  While we all supported one another, I know that Joe’s support was most important to Colette throughout the intensive year program.

It is hard to know where to begin or to end when talking about Joe and Colette as it seems as though they have always been a couple and I know that their love will last a lifetime.  They have something extremely special, something that most people look to as an example and an aspiration.  They bask in one another’s goofiness and constantly show those around them how much they mean to them.  They are two of the kindest people I have ever met and it made me so proud and so happy to see them walking down the isle together after seven years, no eight…errr who’s counting!?  ; )

Joe and Colette’s love is evident in each and every photo and I could not imagine a more amazing photographer than Amy Carroll to capture the joy, goofiness, love and everything in between!

About Renee and Pete:

Pete and I met in Texas. I was still in college and Pete was active duty in the Army.. We met through mutual friends, and were admittedly a little shy about getting into a relationship. But, once we started dating, we just never stopped. Six years later,  we were living together in New York when Pete proposed to me on a weekend trip at the Mohonk Mountain House in early December.

Renee’s search for her perfect gown:

I was never one to obsess over wedding dresses, but I did always know I wanted something classic and romantic– and gorgeous! Turns out, I didn’t really have to look all that hard. I had been to the White Gown once before, to help a friend with her final fitting and taking her dress home. After browsing the site and blog, I came across the Valentine’s Day Love Story contest, and immediately entered. I continued browsing online, and didn’t think about it again– until I won second place! I didn’t find the perfect dress right away, but each dress I tried was more promising than the last.. Then, on my third trip, the very last dress I tried on was the Enzoani I was meant to wear. My mother and sister where there with me, and the choice was unanimous..

Renee’s Favorite Moment:

One of my favorite moments was our pinata hitting out in the venue’s coutryard. The groom and I each took turns before opening it up to the kids. By the time we hung up the second pinanta, the adults were getting in on the action. I have fantastic pictures of each of my Bridesmaids, in heels,  taking a whack at a paper mache star.

Another favorite moment was eating dinner at the reception. It was so nice to have a “normal” moment together after the ceremony. Family and friends would come up and say hi, and we were both a little anxious, but it was so nice to sit at a table alone, in the front of the room and just take everything in for a moment.

A bit about Renee and Pete’s vendors:

My vendors were each phenomenal in there own way. The Federation provided the perfect backdrop, the Salt Lick wowed our guests with their food, and the day only came together with the help of Ruthie, my coordinator, and her team. My photographer and videographer captured all the right moments to create a beautiful story we can look back on forever. The cakes, the flowers, the bar staff, the music– it was all perfect for our day.

We have known Dana ever since her sister Alexis came in to our shop to look for her wedding gown, actually we have had the pleasure to meet most of the family :) We were glad to see her familiar face back in our store to find her wedding gown as well, and so she did! Her beautiful Fabi gown by Enzoani. We were so excited to see her photos in our Mailbox. Here they are for you to enjoy as well.
