Tell us your love story in 500 words or less and be entered to win the gown for your dreams – for free! Your love story may simply be a funny tale that captures the spirit of who you are as a couple, the details of your proposal, how you have grown as a couple or even the introduction into your families’ lives. Whatever you choose to write about, we want to hear your story! After all, it is true what they say… all you need is love!

All entries must be sent to info@thewhitegown.com by February 4, 2012. Our winner will be announced on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2012!

Here are the details.

• Wedding date must be on or after September 1, 2012
• Brides with wedding dates as early as July 13, 2012 are welcomed to enter, however a rush fee will be applied
• Free gown will be valued up to $2,000!
• Chosen gown must be currently stocked
• Chosen gown may be more than $2,000 – bride will be responsible for paying the difference
• Bride must be new to our bridal salon – no exceptions
• There will be no reimbursement if chosen gown is under $2,000, however, the balance may be put towards other bridal accessories

A little about their story: Casey and I had what most would call a love story you only see in the movies.  I had been single until I met Casey and quite frankly given up on love.  It never seemed to be the right time in my life – too busy in high school, attended an all women’s college and moved to NYC (the largest place in the world with the fewest “men”) – am I right, ladies?  In a strange turn of events, for a longer blog posting, we both ended up at the same art/music festival and locked eyes as the sun was setting to Radiohead warming up on stage.. Stephanie’s Search for her Wedding Gown: My search was easy.  I made about 10 appointments and entered your  (Our White Gown Valentine’s Day Contest) contest at the same time.  I got the announcement that I was the winner and cancelled all of my appointments and made one with you.  My mom and best friend flew up to NY from Texas to join my sister and I in the search.  Perfect day with Erica at The White Gown.  It was the first one I tried on.  You sure know how to pick em!

Stephanie’s Favorite Moment on her Wedding Day: My fiance (now husband) set up a bridal suite at a Bed and Breakfast across from Prospect Park (where we got married) and my sis decorated.  It was amazing – perfect time of day to spend with my girls.  Then we walked from the Bed and Breakfast to the Picnic House and I felt like a celebrity!  Everyone stopped to watch me cross Prospect Park West with my bridal party.  The last and most magical fav moment was walking home from the park in our dress and suit as husband and wife.  We live about 10 minutes from the venue and the weather was perfect.  It was just perfect.

Bridal Gown: The White Gown
Tuxedo: Men’s Warehouse – don’t knock it!  They work very hard to make the perfect suit at a wonderful price for men AND have a lifetime guarantee with low costs to alter at any time.
Makeup and Hair: Makeup by Anni Bruno at and very natural and Hair by Sonia at Salon De Quartier.  Very professional and they even let us go to the back room and gave us privacy.  Super nice.
Photographer: Jessica Patch.  She was the hardest working photographer I’ve ever seen.  Got ALL the shots we wanted and know she is going big places – amazing work and easy to work with.
Venue: Prospect Park Picnic House Reasonable for the location.  Not incredibly fancy but the park holds a lot of meaning for us and we turned it into the perfect scene for our wedding.
Flowers: The Room in Bloom
Catering: Sage Events.  We got VERY lucky here.  This was our most difficult category and when we met Leslie and her team we knew it was the best place for us.  Delicious food and a very friendly and warm style.  Loved it.
Wedding Cake: None!  Our caterer made cupcakes and they were yummy – HUGE hit with our guests
Wine: Windsor Wines They have the best selection in Brooklyn.
Invitations: Lion in the Sun Very nice staff and lots of samples to look at.

Band: -Baby Soda Jazz band.  They were incredible and huge hit for our sweet soiree.  Aaron at Jazz Capital covered every last detail and coordinated specifics with the band.  They let us use their sound system for the ceremony and Aaron even stopped by to make sure all went smoothly.  We loved them.
