Personal Loan Personal Loan

As we sat watching MTV’s Video Music Awards last night, we couldn’t help but be overwhelmed with excitement by Beyonce’s big news – if you haven’t heard she and Jay-Z are having a baby! Aside from the thrill of the little rapper /singer / songwriter to-be, we also couldn’t help but fall in love with Beyonce’s soft swept hair.

This morning, we stumbled upon a great article on Brides.com about Beyonce’s great look so we thought we’d pull together a few more inspiring hairstyles for you all! Your wedding hairstyle should work with the hair accessories you’ve chosen and most importantly, reflect your personality! How are you wearing your hair on the big day?

For this weekend’s DIY we couldn’t help but reblog an amazing bohemian handmade wedding we stumbled upon on Green Wedding Shoes. We’re loving that the bride and groom had a hand in creating every little detail that went into their wedding. Talk about inspiring and motivating! Below are a few of our favorite snapshots, but be sure to take a look at the rest of the gallery and read a bit about the bride and groom here! Photos by Justin Lee Photography. Enjoy!!

Happy DIYing!!

We were over the moon when we welcomed our new Aliyah gown by Alyne Bridal to our cozy salon. We’re in love with the netting detail over the pleated bodice, the luxurious beaded belt and the beautifully simple skirt. And the pockets!!

Wear this gown with this classic veil from LC Bridal – the satin edge compliments the beautiful silk dupioni fabric in the gown perfectly. The volume added by the blusher layer adds a touch of drama to the overall look.

To us, this gown would be perfect in a classic New York venue like the Boathouse in Central Park. Love!!

Make your appointment today to try on this amazing wedding dress. We may even let you shout from the rooftop how in love you are with the gown! Or at least jump up and down in one of our dressing rooms.

Samira had a different interaction with The White Gown, most brides first meet with our consultants and then move on to meeting with our seamstress. Samira went a different route. She met Siobhan (Our Seamstress)  first to produce her dream gown for her special day.  Yup, Siobhan met with Samira a few times to go over the design and fit to create her dream gown and we have to say that the final product couldn’t have turned out better! Samira had a vision and we are glad that Siobhan aided in making that vision come true! Congratulations to the happy couple shown here.

This past weekend a beautiful bride-to-be came in dying to try on Maria Karin’s 201105 gown. It had been a while since I’ve pulled that gown for a bride, so I couldn’t help but be inspired by the amazing detail. The color in the bodice, beautiful fit and incredible, layered skirt is so stunning. Take a look at a few photos from the designer below.

We can picture a fun birdcage veil with this incredible gown. Perhaps one just like our Bel Aire 6060 birdcage, pictured below:

What about the venue? Where would you wear this dress? We were thinking some incredibly classic, fashionable New York locations like these:

The iconic Cipriani Wall Street

The beautiful, art-deco Eleven Madison Park

We met Rebecca back on April 15th of 2010 during her first appointment here at The White Gown. That day she had set her mind on Casablanca by Blue By Enzoani. An amazing choice don’t you think? She looked spectacular in her wedding dress in these beautiful photos taken by Charlotte Jenks Lewis Photography.

We couldn’t be more pleased that she not only looked amazing in her wedding dress, but that her wedding was a complete success. By looking through the images we can see the happiness not only on her face, but also on the faces of her fiance Matt and bridal party. Rebecca, you were a pleasure to work with and we wish all the best! Congratulations again.

*Her wedding was not only featured here at our own blog, but also featured on Style Me Pretty! Be sure to take a look at the rest of the beautiful images of Rebecca’s Connecticut Wedding. Enjoy!
