Inspired by Our Weekend Trunk Show!
November 29th, 2011
We’re starting to get really excited (as we’ve already mentioned) about our upcoming Alyne Trunk Show. We’ve started to get some of the gowns in for the show and couldn’t help but write about one of our favorites so far, Bridgette. We first mentioned this beautiful gown on our blog here, but thought we’d bring it up again. It’s that beautiful!
Just look at the beautiful high neckline and the pleated natural waist. We also love the full, soft skirt and the flowing train.
And that back! The beaded bow details are unique and add a really special touch. But we especially love the finishing of the illusion sleeves into the V back. Elegant and timeless.
We hope you’re as excited as we are for the trunk show this weekend. Appointments are filling up fast, so be sure to make yours today! Look forward to seeing you then!!

New Enzoani Gown for Your Thanksgiving Weekend!
November 25th, 2011
Did everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving? Well we have some exciting news to continue your holiday weekend – we’ve started to get in our new gowns from Enzoani and Blue by Enzoani! So today we wanted to feature one of the amazing new gowns we have in our store, Enzoani’s Gloria. Shown below in both ivory and mocha, we absolutely love the textured skirt and pleated bodice.
How perfect is this gown for a winter wedding? We can picture a beautiful bride in the Gloria gown in a fabulous, dramatic New York City location, like the Tribeca Rooftop.
Pair with an elbow length veil and pictures taken on the cobblestone streets of Tribeca in some wintry weather and you have yourself an absolute dream wedding day! We hope you’re feeling as inspired as we are by this gown.
Be sure to make your appointment today to try on this amazing gown!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Weekend DIY – Whiteboard Fun!
November 19th, 2011
by Keely
Remember when I was trying to figure out what I should do with all of the fun paper I got from Kate’s Paperie last weekend? Well, my first project is complete and ready to show off! I was once again inspired by a post I found on Pinterest via Make and Takes to make my own, homemade whiteboard. And the best part is that it is SUPER easy.
All you need is:
- some fun, colorful paper
- a picture frame
- dry erase markers
What’s great about this project is that you probably have most of the materials already in your home. Here is the whiteboard that I ended up putting together. I decided to layer a few pieces of paper so that it muted the colors a bit, but you can still see the design.
Happy DIYing!

Real Weddings Wednesdays: Colleen&Alex who got married on September 01, 2011
November 16th, 2011
Their engagement:
Alex and I met through mutual friends in Arlington, VA. We continued a long distance relationship for several months until I moved to Maryland to be closer to Alex. Less than a year later Alex graduated and received his Masters degree in engineering. To celebrate we were planning to go out to dinner with Alex’s parents. When I came down the stairs of our house, Alex was waiting for me on one knee and he proposed! I was completely surprised!. We went out to dinner on our own to celebrate and upon our return home, I was surprised again with all of my family visiting from Connecticut, waiting at the house with Alex’s family to celebrate our engagement!
Colleen’s search for the Perfect Gown:
I actually did a lot of wedding gown shopping at various shops in CT and NY. The White Gown was the last stop on my list and as soon as I tried on “the dress” my mom and sisters started crying. We all knew it was it!
Colleen’s Favorite Moment:
My favorite moments were saying our vows, luckily I got through them without crying! And sitting next to him during the ceremony after we said our vows. I have never seen him so happy
Colleen & Alex’s Vendors:
We had a wonderful photographer, Misty Enright. She is incredibly knowledgeable and we felt so comfortable around her.. We used Julia’s Bakery for our cake and it was delicious. The design was exactly how I had envisioned it and I absolutely loved it. Our band was the Jon Bates Band and they were the life of the party! Everyone was on the dance floor before dinner, which I had never seen at a wedding before!

Tuesday Inspiration – All New Alyne Bridal!
November 15th, 2011
by Keely
We have some exciting news! Alyne’s Fall 2012 line is now online! We’ve been reeling ever since we first caught a glimpse of the new collection at Bridal Market last month and seeing the gowns again online, well, we just can’t help but fall in love all over again. Here are just a few of our favorites. Be sure to keep checking back here to see what gowns from the Fall collection end up in our store!
First up is Adrienne – a beautiful tea length with a natural waist and texture on the bodice and hip. Perfect for your garden gathering!
Arlene is up next – we love the classic elegance of this silhouette.
Bridgette! We love the high sheer neckline about this gown. <sigh>
Catherine is a full lace beauty with a scalloped v-neck.
Next up is Dillian – perfect for all of those destination weddings. Simple, breathy, flowy. We love it.
Although we’d have to ask the designer what the inspiration was for Karen, we like to think perhaps it was Black Swan?! How fun is this gown?
Kathleen is textured, v-necked, natural-waisted and completely beautiful!
A personal favorite of mine is up next, Kaylee. And not just because it’s the gown closest to my name. Look at those cap sleeves!!!
Now this one we’re posting mostly because it’s beautiful, but also because it has the same name as our lovely consultant, Mercedes! Woo!
A different take on the Princess Kate gown from this Alyne’s Fall collection, we’re loving the version below called Paris.
Last but not least, another personal favorite is Zoe, below. We love seeing this silhouette in full lace, especially with that structured bodice.
Hope you’re feeling inspired! You can check out the full line on Alyne’s website here. Tell us your favorite!
Weekend DIY – What Should We Make?!
November 12th, 2011
by Keely
I got an exciting package in the mail from good old UPS yesterday. Kate’s Paperie sent me my first mixed bag of colorful and delightful paper! The $20 purchase came with a lot more paper than I was expecting and I spent part of the evening just leafing through all of the options, wondering what I should make!
Isn’t this exciting!? Also in the bag are a few blank cards to dress up with some of the other papers. Below are a few of my favorites – any thoughts on what I should make first? I’ll but sure to post my paper adventures.
Happy DIYing!!
