We’re excited to say that our Alyne trunk show this past weekend was a blast! The weekend ended with many happy brides. For our inspiration post this week, we’re featuring an Alyne gown that found a home with one of our blushing brides.

Perfect for a summer affair, the gown is called Evelyn and features a beautiful embroidered lace, a sweetheart neckline and ruched bodice that cinches at the natural waist. Rosettes near the hemline of the gown add a lovely, delicate detail.

I think a pencil or beaded edged elbow length veil is simply stunning with this gown – perhaps something like this Sara Gabriel, double layer veil! Pair with a satin or beaded sash and your look is complete!

We’ve pulled together some beautiful outdoor venues in Upstate New York and Vermont – can you just picture a beautiful bride walking down the aisle in these scenes? Love!!

A gorgeous shot in front of the Stone House B and B, Upstate New York.

What a view! Shot by Erik Ekroth at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, Upstate New York.

The stunning Riverside Farm, Pittsfield, Vermont.

And finally, the expansive and beautiful Amee Farm, Pittsfield, Vermont.

If you love this gown as much as we do, get in touch and we’ll be sure to place an order for a loaner gown with the designer!

I love keeping up with the Cupcakes and Cashmere blog by Emily – everything she posts is well thought out and full of lovely details. The same goes for this weekend’s DIY project, which we’re reposting from Cupcakes and Cashmere! Perfect for your Spring bridal showers and weddings, this stationery is easy to do on your own and would be perfect for those thank you cards.

Are you a maid of honor? Why not give the blushing bride a set of these handmade cards with the envelopes already addressed for the thank yous after her bridal shower. You’ll save her lots of time and everyone will love the handmade touch!

What you’ll need:

good quality paper – you can easily get a hold of this at your local craft store or online

glitter – because who doesn’t love just about ANYTHING sparkly?!

glue pen – the perfect way to write custom, dazzling messages on your cards

decorative paper – perfect for custom envelopes!

stamps – we can’t stop swooning over these stamps from Paper Source

And that’s it! The options are endless. Send us photos of your own creations and we’ll post them here on the blog!

Happy DIYing!

A little bit about the couple from the Photographer:

Colette and Joe are New York residents but grew up here in Michigan. While they were in town earlier this week, we were able to take advantage of the beautiful fall colors for their engagement session.

Colette is a clothing designer and it shows in her perfect clothing selection. I adore both of their style and the colors were perfect for their session! I want to shop with Colette on a regular basis ;) .

New Gowns: Alyne Bridal

March 20th, 2012

by Keely

To celebrate our upcoming trunk show this weekend, we’re featuring two gowns from the latest Alyne collection! Both are recent additions to our selection and are of the same, gorgeous fabrics and quality that ring true with all Alyne gowns. We think you’ll love them!

First up is Felicity. A stunning, silk dupioni gown featuring a ruched bodice, beautiful beaded belt and, of course, an amazing one-shoulder detail. A gentle, sweeping train completes the look.

Pair with a birdcage veil and a set of sparkling bangles and you’ll be a simply stunning, modern bride!

Next up is the full lace beauty, Catherine – perhaps inspired by the Duchess of Cambridge herself. The gown features a low, scooping back, v-shaped neckline and a delicate sash. Our favorite part about this gown, although not pictures below, is that the underlay can come in a lovely pale pink. You have to see this gown in person!

Paired with a cathedral pencil edge or lace veil, this look is classic and elegant.

If you love Alyne gowns as much as we do, be sure to make your appointment today for our trunk show this weekend! You won’t be disappointed!

These warmer days (not to mention the near lack of winter!) has me hoping that spring is here to stay. And what better way to celebrate than with an inspiration post dedicated to this glorious season! I also pulled in one of my favorite colors of the season: mint. It goes with everything (from deep blues to vibrant corals and yellows. Enjoy!

Here is a great, easy DIY project for those vintage Save the Dates you have been dreaming about, from Ruffled Blog!

All you’ll need is a stamp kit from Staples and some vintage postcards that you can find online (at sites like eBay and Craigslist) or in an antique store!

Just place the letters on the stamp with some tweezers (they’ll come in the stamp kit) and then stamp until your heart is content! You can use the same technique for place cards, menus, even invitation envelopes to tie the entire wedding together! So easy!

Happy DIYing!
