Bye For Now

Since March of 2011, I have worked part time as a bridal consultant and blog writer at The White Gown. I started working in bridal because it is something that I love – all of the pretty little details, the amazing gowns, the emotion on the wedding day. I love it all! Erica and The White Gown management welcomed me with open arms to the store and since that first weekend, I have learned so much – how to perfectly pair a gown and a veil, how to accessorize a gown to make it even more beautiful, which fabrics and fits work best for brides of all shapes and sizes…
And while I have loved my time working in bridal, my full time job is moving me out of New York City to the beautiful city of Sydney, Australia.
Australia!!!
To say a proper goodbye, I thought it’d be fun to talk about some of my favorite gowns at the shop. It’s funny how since starting work at The White Gown, my taste in gowns has changed so much! I always pictured myself wearing a simple sheath, full lace gown, and now I’m drawn to the more natural waisted, ball gown silhouettes from designers like Alyne. So, here we go! My all-time top five at The White Gown (in no particular order – it’s too hard to pick a number one!):
Audrey by Alyne
I LOVE THIS GOWN. Okay, okay. I’ll probably be saying this about every gown, but it’s true. This gown is gorgeous. The full silk dupioni fabric, the silhouette, the simplicity of the gown, what’s not to love? Audrey is classic elegance at its best.
Wendy by Alyne
When I first laid eyes on Wendy, I could not stop swooning. It is gorgeous. The floral detail in the full skirt and the beautiful pleated bodice with the lower back – sigh. It is glamorous and delicate all at once. And I love it. Two of my amazing brides have purchased Wendy and those were two of my favorite days at the salon! When a bride has this gown on I simply cannot stop smiling!
Ginger by Enzoani
Another drop-dead gorgeous gown, this beauty from Enzoani was an instant favorite of mine when it arrived at The White Gown. I absolutely love the flutter sleeves and the slim silhouette. The fabric drapes beautifully. I love how unique this gown is – it truly is for a bride looking for an elegant, vintage look!
Danbury by Blue by Enzoani
Danbury has also always been a favorite of mine. This true tea length gown is dream-like and floaty. Imagine the heels you could wear with this gown! I love the lace bodice and *very* full (and fun!) tulle skirt.
Style 1913 by Lusan Mandongus
Finally, this Lusan stunner has always been a favorite of mine since day one. I always picture this gown on a bride in a quaint countryside setting, flanked by bridesmaids in floral tea length dresses. I love the cap sleeves, the lace details and the flowing, tulle skirt.
As for what I’ll wear on my dream wedding day? Only time will tell. Well, time and the engagement ring that I don’t have yet! For now, I can’t wait to keep an eye out on this blog for all of the new gowns coming into The White Gown, especially all of the beautiful Nicole Miller’s I’ve been hearing about!
Thank you to all of the lovely ladies that work at The White Gown, the amazing management and, above all, the beautiful brides I’ve had the privilege of meeting and helping to find their perfect wedding gowns! It’s been a pleasure meeting and working with you all.
Until next time! xxo, Keely
