A common phrase heard ringing through The White Gown’s dressing rooms this summer has been “the bling factor”. A lot of brides are looking for that little extra something to add to their already gorgeous dresses. A simple addition comes in the form of a sweet headband or glamorous belt, but an easy DIY project brings “the bling factor” to a whole new clever level, without breaking the bank.
We introduce to you the Brooch Bouquet – a sophisticated addition to your bridal look that provides a tailored amount of bling while allowing you to stay within your tight budget. This fun craft project lets you to express your creativity and can easily become a fun bonding activity with your bridal party, searching thrift stores and garage sales high and low for beautiful and inexpensive gems.
After you’ve tracked down your ideal brooches, pick up some pliable wire and floral tape from your local craft store. Fasten the wire to the hooks or pin on the underside of the brooch and, once stable, wrap tightly with the floral tape. Then, gather with the rest of the brooches and flowers as you wish. You can get creative with the amount of brooches you use (whether you have an entire bouquet of brooches or some scattered in with your wedding flowers), the colors, the flower combinations – the possibilities are endless and you can keep constructing your bouquet until it’s perfect.
