Real Wedding Wednesdays! Liz & Leif got married on 10.22.2011
January 4th, 2012
A little bit about their story…
We met 7 years ago when I was doing a student rotation for Physical Therapy at the VA where Leif worked. When I was done with the rotation he asked me to dinner and the rest is history.
Leif completely surprised me. He said we were going to the Yankee game Tuesday night and that I had to get out of work right away. We took a car downtown to get the ferry boat, but instead we pulled over at a Helipad. Leif said he got an amazing deal on a helicopter ride around Manhattan. I told him we should be saving our money so he “can get me something special.” The pilot asked us if we were celebrating anything special and our response was no, just a random night. We flew up the Hudson River, did a couple loops around Yankee stadium, and on the way back downtown around midtown Leif took the ring out of his pocket and asked me to marry him. It was perfect.
How Liz found her wedding gown:
Three weeks after we got engaged, my mom and aunt were in NYC visiting and I thought it would be a good time to go dress shopping. Our first stop was The White Gown. Erica was amazing and I tried on about 8 dresses and ended up buying the first dress I tried on. The White Gown was such a relaxing and comfortable environment.
Liz’s Favorite moment on her wedding day:
My most favorite moment of the wedding day was saying our vows. We recited traditional Catholic vows and it was just so sentimental and special. In a close second was the look on Leif’s face when the doors opened at the back of the church and he saw me for the first time that day.
Liz and Leif’s Vendors:
Our Ceremony was held at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse, NY
Our reception was at The Lodge at Welch Allyn. A rustic, elegant space with floor to ceiling picture windows overlooking a pond and raw wood beams.
The flowers were simple: orange Mokara orchids
The beams were uplit with amber lighting
Our DJ came up from NYC: DJ Center spun all night
Tom Harmon was our photographer and is an up and coming wedding photographer who specializes in candid artistic pictures versus posed
I would like to thank The White Gown, especially Erica, for everything. They were completely professional, but at the same time caring. They made what could have been a very stressful experience, easy and fun. I got so many compliments on my dress, veil and accessories. We had a perfect day and would not have changes a single thing!!

Real Wedding Wednesdays! Stephanie & Joey got married on 11.12.11

A little about them
I honestly have to say that I married my best friend. Our relationship grows stronger every single day. After becoming his wife, I fell in love all over again. In life, you go thru a lot of ups and downs but knowing that Joey is right there every time I wake up and every time I go to bed, no matter what it may be, its all worth it in the end. Joey is such an amazing man and I am so extremely lucky. The day he proposed, was just an ordinary day, a perfect day. It was a Tuesday and we went out to dinner like we normally do, it was our date night. We went to dinner and then we went on a dock under a hotel in Redbank, NJ where we went on our first night to just talk and get to know one another. We were on the dock for all of 3 minutes and I turn around and there he is, down on one knee. It wasn’t anything crazy, or over the top, it was just perfect.
Stephanie’s search for the perfect wedding gown: For my wedding gown, I knew exactly what I wanted, slim fitted and nothing but lace. In looking online, I found my perfect dress. I wanted something simple, but elegant and classy. The White Gown was the first and last place I looked for my dream gown.
Stephanie’s Favorite Moment of the Wedding: Every moment of our day was a favorite. Just seeing everyone there around us, showed us how much we are loved and seeing everyone having a great time made our day even more perfect than it already was.
Stephanie and Joey’s Vendors: Everyone that we used for our amazing day was the best decisions we have ever made. Every vendor from the bakery for our cake to the hall, was fantastic. They were so accommodating and wanted to make your day as perfect as it already was. You were number one and they were so sweet, that if we could, we would do it all over again just so we can work with everyone again and also dance all night
I just want to thank everyone that was involved and responsible for making our wedding, the wedding of our dreams. It was more perfect than I could have ever imagined and working with all of you, has made everything worth it whether the planning was good or stressful, every minute was extremely worth and we wish we could do it again. You guys are truly amazing and I couldn’t thank you enough for making our day so unforgettable then it already will be.
